Materials needed for your creation

To create a bird feeder looking elegant and personalized, you will need a few simple elements. Frank & Selli, famous for their innovative ideas, used a IKEA suspension modello “Forty-four”.

Other than that, get: a piece of wood (like a round plate), a wooden cylinderand hooka quickly and of string. If you want a pop of color, you’ll also need paint.

Steps to build the house

Painting and preparation

If you’ve decided to add a pop of color, start here. Smooth the wood surface with sandpaper, then apply paint. Otherwise, proceed with the hole in the center of the wooden base.

Fix the wooden cylinder in the center with a screw, to ensure a solid structure.

Final assembly

At the top end of the cylinder, insert the hookthen place thelampshade so that the hook protrudes slightly from the top edge. Finally, use the string to hang your creation.

Once the paint and fixings are dry, your house is ready to welcome your first winged guests.

Positioning tips

Choose a safe place where to hang your little house. It must receive enough heat without being exposed to direct sun.

Feeding bird hosts

During the colder months, from mid-November to the end of March, it is possible to feed birds with a seed mixture. There LPO recommends 1/3 black sunflower seeds, 1/3 unsalted peanuts, and 1/3 corn.
